
AUTOMOTIVE MECHANIC
The Village of Malverne, Nassau County, New York is seeking a qualified candidate to serve as an Automotive Mechanic for the Department of Public Works.

Primary responsibilities
-
Performs skilled repair work on automobiles, garbage trucks, payloaders, sweepers, trucks, heavy equipment and other automotive equipment.

Repairs, overhauls or replaces transmissions, valves, fabrications, brakes, generators, ignition systems, small engines, and other automotive parts and equipment.

Performs periodic inspections and tunes up equipment to insure proper functioning.

Performs emergency road service.

Prepares records and reports on work accomplished.
Desired Skills/Qualifications/ Education

Valid CDL Driver’s License and good driving record

High School diploma or equivalent

Knowledge of modern DEF Systems a plus

The Village of Malverne, Nassau County, New York has job openings for substitute Crossing Guards.
The primary responsibility of a Crossing Guard is to direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic at a specified location for the purpose of protecting children and other persons in the vicinity of a school building.
Typical duties include:

Direct pedestrian and vehicular traffic at assigned street intersection or crossing point.

Regulate directional flow of vehicular traffic in order to enable pedestrians to cross street.

Signal instructions and directions to operators of motor vehicles or pedestrians at crossing point.
