The Celebrations Committee oversees some of the most beloved traditions in the village.  The all volunteer committee assists with the Memorial Day Parade, 9/11 Memorial Service and many Holiday Lighting events.

For over twenty-five years, the annual Holiday Lighting of Malverne has been one of the most beloved and cherished traditions of our village.  Hempstead Avenue is turned into a winter wonderland where residents and surrounding neighbors come to enjoy a perfect introduction into the holiday season.

Events such as the Cookie and Ornament Workshop, Breakfast with Santa, the ice sculpture demonstration, and  horse and buggy rides are the perfect way to ring in the holiday season.

The Malverne Seniors meet on Thursday morning in the Community Room of Village Hall from September through June.  They attend theatrical programs, luncheons, and take trips to local points of interest. 

Malverne TV broadcasts throughout the Village on Cablevision Channel 18 and Verizon Channel 30.  The station has an all volunteer staff who broadcast monthly board meeting and public hearings.  They cover special events and celebrations and post upcoming happenings in and around the Village. 

The Malverne Summer Recreation Program is a 6 week program running from July 9th to August 16th.  It meets Monday through Thursday from 9:00 AM to 12:00 Noon.  Grades K-5 meet at Downing Elementary School.  Grades 6-8 meet at Malverne a High School.  The Summer Recreation newsletter will be distributed on the first day of camp and contains all camp information and special events.  http://malvernerec.webs.com/

The Traffic Commission meets quarterly at Malverne Village Hall. It is the commission's responsibility to adopt regulations concerning traffic control signals, markings of roadways and crosswalks, one way streets, and parking on Village streets.  Meeting dates are posted on the Village Calendar.  Please submit requests for review of regulations or directives to Malverne Village Hall c/o Traffic Commission.

The Tree & Beautification Committee oversees many programs that support the beautification of the Village.  They offer annual tree planting programs to residents, issue tree removal permits and supervise seasonal plantings in the Business District.  To contact the committee call 516-599-1200.
